Just some clarification. when I umpacked xgalaga-1.6c.tar.gz in games, I
created the xgalaga-1.6c dir.
after I cd'd to xgalaga-1.6c and attempting the make
I then did cd ..
this put me in /usr/guest/gu/games
$su
#rm -rf * ### to get rid of the archive###
#exit
$pwd
  /usr/guest/gu/games/xgalaga-1.6c
(I new something was not right)
I then did cd to xgalaga-1.6c
I got a message that that dir can't be found, starting search from root
I then ended up in /root
I went back to /usr/guest/gu/games and tried to cd  to xgalaga-1.6c
same thing, so I did a cd / and then cd /usr/guest/gu/games
The problem then went away, OS said the file did not exist
