System: NetBSD zoo 1.3F NetBSD 1.3F (ZOO) #0: Sun Jun 14 09:09:08 MDT 1998 local@zoo:/home/local/compile/sys/arch/i386/compile/ZOO i386

>Description:
When a system with a SCSI disk drive with removable media is shut
down, the SCSI cache sync code generates a dire-sounding warning
about cache sync failure if there is no disk in the drive.

>How-To-Repeat:
Halt a system having an Iomega Jaz 1 GB drive with no disk inserted:

sd1(ncr0:1:0): Check Condition on opcode 0x35
	      SENSE KEY: Not Ready
	       ASC/ASCQ: Medium Not Present

	  sd1: WARNING: cache synchronization failed

>Fix:
Perhaps it would be straightforward to examine the reason for
failure, and suppress the warning if the reason is
	"Medium Not Present."
