System: NetBSD icky 1.3H NetBSD 1.3H (ICKY) #104: Wed Oct 14 10:53:10 PDT 1998 thorpej@icky:/u1/netbsd/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/ICKY i386
>Description:
The new IDE code spews the following annoying message to the
console ad nauseum while playing audio CDs (with e.g. xmcd).
wdc_atapi_intr warning: bcount value is 8 after io
>How-To-Repeat:
Plop your favorite Mr. T Experience CD into the CD-ROM drive, hit
play on the xmcd control panel, notice your message buffer fill with
annoying messages.
>Fix:
It's easy to squelch the message by turning off DIAGNOSTIC, but
either the message is inappropriate, or there's some bug that
causes it to be printed for the right reason. *shrug*
But, I don't know in this case, so no fix provided.
