Fresh install of NetBSD 1.3.2
System: NetBSD sopwith 1.3.2 NetBSD 1.3.2 (GENERIC) #0: Mon May 11 16:01:27 PDT 1998 cgd@notunix:/udir/cgd/NETBSD/src.1.3.2/sys/arch/alpha/compile/GENERIC alpha
>Description:
/dev/MAKEDEV chowns /dev/fd to bin.bin and chmods it to 555,
but the daily security checking script doesn't like this:
Checking special files and directories.
dev/fd: user (0, 3)
gid (0, 7)
permissions (0755, 0555)
>How-To-Repeat:
su
cd /dev
./MAKEDEV fd
sh /etc/security
should do it, or do a fresh install and wait from the
cron job to run
>Fix:
Change /etc/mtree/special and/or /dev/MAKEDEV so that they agree
on what /dev/fd ownership and permissions should be.
