i meant the shells that ship with netbsd.  although...how many other
ways of doing it are there?  i can't imagine there are that many
differing ways of implementing kill.

and if that's the only difference, then there's no need to do
anything.  i was confused because i thought the two interfaces were
disjoint, not a (sub/super)set of each other.
