When attempting to use nvi's set print= to make characters дц print normally,
it acts in a strange (wrong) way. Initial set print=дц has no effect except
that set all shows that print's value is indeed "\xe4\xf6". Characters in the buffer
are still shown as \xe4\xf6. A subsequent set print= will make the characters in
the buffer display correclty as дц. In set all, print's value will become
"".
Problem also exists on nvi 1.79.
>How-To-Repeat:
Open a file. Enter insert mode. Type дц. See them appear as \xe4\xf6.
Type ESC :set print=дц. See nothing immediately visible happen.
Type :set print=. See characters in the buffer become дц.
