>Description:
My laptop seems to handle 'apm -S' just fine, but '-S' leaves it with disk
running and processor churning - it only really seems to turn off the display.
'apm -z' works great - laptop goes completely to sleep. I hit a button, and
the display comes back, but that's all she wrote; nothing else ever happens.
The machine no longer responds to pings. It chirps once coming back up,
but that's it.
