The NCR driver appears to be somewhat broken. My system has a
Tekram DC-310 (NCR53C810AE) and a Fujitsu M2909STU HDD (SCSI ID#0), but
most of the time, booting results in the following set of messages
appearing:

Fiddling with SCSI termination and changing cables does not appear to
have any substantial effect on this result. The above has been
observed to happen with versions of /sys/dev/pci/ncr.c upto and
including 1.89 (1999/08/19).

Any attempt to talk to the HDD once it has booted results in the
same set of messages being output.
