Last I ran into this (but I think it was rain or some similar program),
it was because the termcap entries are longer than 1024 characters,
after expansion of all the tc= inclusions. As a result, some essential
entries which happen to be near the end were truncated away.
I think I suggested using a more intelligent compression of redefined
values (remove the unused string) and undefined values (remove both
definition and undefinition). I planned to write code for that but
never got around to it. In any case, that's only a stopgap measure which
might not even be good enough in this particular case.
