vis(1) uses the vis(3) function. To set the VIS_OCTAL flag, the '- o' flag
is used.

and wonder what \606 etc is.

I'm in the process of rewriting vis.c (to add strsvis and strsvisx) and will
fix the problem. I'll supply a patch for 1.4.2.
