NetBSD bsd 1.4.1 NetBSD 1.4.1 (ibmsocks) #0: Fri Nov 12 03:20:17 PST 1999
root@bsd:/usr/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/ibmsocks i386
>Description:
I have a fairly vanilla NetBSD 1.4.1 system behind a socks firewall. I have compiled a new kernel recently but the problem was there before with the original kernel.
I have installed:
socks5-1.0.2 SOCKS v5 application layer gateway and clients
And has setup /usr/pkg/etc/libsocks5.conf like this:
noproxy - localhost -
noproxy - 127. -
noproxy - 207.39.8.0/255.255.255.0 - - -
socks4 - - - - socks.dk.ibm.com:1080
socks5 - - - - socks.dk.ibm.com:1080
rtelnet, rftp etc. works fine and so do ssh which I've compiled with socks support. But when I try to dynamicly link an application with runsocks it just returns without even giving an error message.
Example: "runsocks lynx" returns immediately to the commandline.
The libraries seems to be in place:
/usr/pkg/lib/libsocks5.a
/usr/pkg/lib/libsocks5_sh.so
/usr/pkg/lib/libsocks5_sh.so.0.0 -> libsocks5_sh.so
Have I missed something completely or might the package be broken?
My system is available for further testing etc. if this is considered like a real problem and you haven't thrown the lart at me.
Kind Regards,
Claus Andersen
