NetBSD tuktu.eyring.com 1.4.2 NetBSD 1.4.2 (TUKTU) #0: Thu Mar 23 09:25:10 MST 2000 root@tuktu.eyring.com:/usr/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/TUKTU i386
>Description:
The pre-built binary for Ghostscript 6.01 on the i386 platform fails to run
because of a missing initialization file: "kfvflib.ps".
>How-To-Repeat:
Install the ghostscript-6.01 binary for i386/NetBSD-1.4.2, along with all prerequisite packages.
Run something like "gv testfile.ps" or "ps2pdf testfile.ps testfile.pdf". You get:
Can't find (or open) initialization file (kfvflib.ps)
Unrecoverable error: undefinedfilename in jcidinit.ps
Operand stack:
kfvflib.ps
Unexpected interpreter error -22.

>Fix:
Apparently vflib was added to support Japanese vector fonts.
It was not required in ghostscript-5.50, which runs just fine.
Can't we simply build a new ghostscript-6.01 package which does not require Japanese fonts?
