System: NetBSD kilby 1.4.1 NetBSD 1.4.1 (KILBY) #0: Fri Jul 14 16:40:31 EDT 2000 mcmahill@kilby:/usr/build/syssrc/KILBY sparc

>Description:
it would be most convenient if we could

a) have a unified installboot program that would let one program install alpha, pmax, macppc,...
   bootblocks.

b) have this program be portable to other OS's.

the desire for this is to make it easy for non-netbsd users (solaris for example) to grab
binary sets, make a bootable install CD, and convert all their machines to netbsd.

>How-To-Repeat:
try and make an alpha bootcd from a sparc/solaris machine because its the only machine
you have with enough diskspace/internet connectivity, wish you could do it easily.

>Fix:

none at the moment, but maybe with the PR i won't forget if I get some time.
