Dies ist Thilos Unix Signature! Viel Spass damit.
>Environment:

System:

DS2100 without framebuffer [-memory] (that strange SIMM) to force serial
console, 12MB RAM.
Boot-ROM: KN01 V7.01
CPU: 'LR2000GC-12' (made by LSI Logic) if it matters (i.e. MIPS R2K)
System passes all selftests.

Kernels:
    NetBSD 1.5_ALPHA2 (Mini) #2: Fri Oct 13 15:37:29 MEST 2000
    thilo@Max:/usr/src/sys/arch/pmax/compile/Mini
and
    NetBSD 1.5_ALPHA2 (INSTALL) #1: Mon Oct 2 23:44:14 MDT 2000
    mhitch@news.msu.montana.edu:/b/NetBSD-1.5/src/sys/arch/pmax/compile/INSTALL
don't work

    NetBSD 1.4.2 (INSTALL) #30: Sun Mar 5 13:15:57 EST 2000
    root@vlad:/usr/src/sys/arch/pmax/compile/INSTALL
does work

>Description:
I just got an DS2100 and I have problems booting anything 1.5-ish on it.

E.g. the nfsnetbsd kernel of the 1.5ALPHA2 distribution hangs with:
[...]
NetBSD 1.5_ALPHA2 (INSTALL) #1: Mon Oct 2 23:44:14 MDT 2000
    mhitch@news.msu.montana.edu:/b/NetBSD-1.5/src/sys/arch/pmax/compile/INSTALL
DECstation 2100 (PMAX)
total memory = 12288 KB
avail memory = 9620 KB
using 179 buffers containing 716 KB of memory
mainbus0 (root)

(no newline after the (root))

And so do my own kernels, with or without framebuffer/rcons.

The nfsnetbsd kernel of the 1.4.2 distribution runs fine..
[But I want to run 1.5_ALPHA2 :-)]

>How-To-Repeat:
Get a DS2100 and try to boot 1.5_ALPHA2. (See above)
