sounds works fine until you suspend and resume on my toshiba portege
7200. after that, sounds doesn't work. it appears to me that the
open(2) on /dev/audio hangs.

buy a toshiba portege 7200 (nice now, but terrible 12 months ago).
install netbsd.
put it to sleep (via zzz(8)).
wake it up by pressing the power button
