>Description:
After doing a make install (or, I presume, pkg_add) of INN
(pkgsrc/news/inn) it's not possible to just start INN up.
Obviously, one should have to do configuration and starting the
daemon up right off the bat is a bad idea, but this line in
/etc/passwd, included in the default install, needs to be changed
by the package:
news:*:6:8::0:0:Network News:/var/spool/news:/sbin/nologin
... as running the rc script installed by the package produces the
following:
grappa:~# /usr/pkg/etc/rc.d/innd start
This account is currently not available.
I'm *assuming* that just changing the news user's shell to /bin/sh
is okay but I haven't exactly thought out all the security
implications of doing so.
>How-To-Repeat:
Install innd, try to use its start up script.
>Fix:
none provided, especially since I'm unsure whether this should
just be an addition to the post-install output ("You need to give
the user 'news' a shell!") or an actual change to the package.
Thoughts?
