Further testing shows that even with just two drives connected to the
bus a simultaneous run of bonnie with a large enough file will cause the
driver to hang or panic.

With only one drive all is well -- not even a peep or hiccup from the
driver or the disks.

I started looking at the differences in the driver and the scsipi layers
between 1.5T and 1.5W and was overwhelmed by them.  I've very little
knowledge of how the aic7899 and it's kin work.

I may soon try a 1.5.1 kernel, and/or FreeBSD (I've heard they've done a
lot of work to support this chip recently, though that's "third-hand"),
but I've a fair bit of time invested in my own NetBSD release and I'd
like to get it to work smoothly on this Intel motherboard (and I don't
want to have to add a different add-on SCSI card! ;-).
