System: NetBSD acheron.in.hades 1.5.2 NetBSD 1.5.2 (MLB) #0: Thu Aug 23 13:26:43 EDT 2001 root@acheron.in.hades:/usr/src-1-5/sys/arch/i386/compile/MLB i386
>Description:
ntalkd appears not to work when I've got a 1.5.3_ALPHA/i386 userland
current as of 2001.10.06 in place. Moving back to a 1.5.2 userland,
it works. The error message I see:
talkd[28948]: sendto: Address family not supported by protocol family
This happens when specifying a username alone or a username and address
(IPv4), with the specification or lack thereof of a particular tty having
no impact.
I've found no changes between netbsd-1-5-PATCH002 and netbsd-1-5 in
libc, where that error seems to live, nor in the talkd sources. Also,
booting a 1.5.2 kernel alongside the 1.5.3 userland doesn't help things,
so it doesn't appear to be there. I'm baffled at the moment.
>How-To-Repeat:
talk `whoami`
