I don't know if that's the right thing.  The etc.*/ttys files probably
should match the etc.*/MAKEDEV files "all" entry (and most of them do).
Making all the extra pty/tty pair nodes requires admin intervention and
the addition to the /etc/ttys file should occur then.  Maybe there
should be a note in those MAKEDEV files about it.  Or maybe people would
just prefer to have a larger /etc/ttys file which doesn't need to be
manipulated.  It would take up a bit more disk space.  Timewise,
processing via ttyslot() or whatever method programs choose to use
shouldn't really be a factor.
