raidutil (from storage-manager-3.14) dumps core when you run
raidutil -L version
or
raidutil -L all

fix the in-kernel emulation of the ioctls that raidutil frobs
to return some info (even "fake garbage") so that the version
request doesn't cause raidutil to dump core.
