1) cc -c -Xc -xF -xcg92 -I.  -I/usr/openwin/include  -Dsun -Dsparc -DSVR4 -DSYSV     -O  data.c

2) once you are using gcc you probably don't want -Xc -xF or -xcg92 as  it will break the build
3) also all of the Kpic should be changed to fpic
