The PR contains a description of a bug and the suggested patch.  I
didn't open it to start a discussion, I opened it to suggest a fix for
what I consider to be a relativley serious "bug" (missing but necessary
features).  If there's any disagreement with the validity of the bug in
the first place then the PR should be put in feedback state and the
discussion opened in the proper forum, and if my feedback to date hasn't
clarified the nature of the bug then that is what I expect to be done.

Closing a PR while any dispute of any kind exists in relation to it is
exactly the wrong thing to do.
