Tom Lord, the developer of old rx-1.5 said to not use old 1.5 from GNU:
"I don't know why they still distribute it." He suggests using the version
in libhackerlab (from ftp.regexps.com) instead. I don't know if it is
feature compatible or not. Just an idea ...
