[pkgs built around 1.6G]
xmms-1.2.7nb2 X Multimedia System --- An audio player with a Winamp GUI
mpg123-0.59.18nb2 Command-line player for mpeg layer 1, 2 and 3 audio
>Description:
it used to be that with the volume knob all the way up on the laptop,
i could set xmms to ~50% in order to get a sufficient amount of
"music" into my ears to drown out the noise around me. with a 1.6J
kernel built from sources ~2 weeks newer, the volume knob on the
laptop all the way up, and xmms cranked to 100%, the volume will reach
what 1.6I would call 40%. this is just plain not loud enough.
>How-To-Repeat:
upgrade laptop from 1.6I to 1.6J, and play music.
>Fix:
no idea. whimper.
