>Description:
Device is an American Megatrends MegaRAID 3 (standard I2O, interface 0x01,
revision 0x02) at pci0 dev 15 function 0, aka MegaRAID Express 500, aka
series 475. The card is a single-channel RAID host adapter, with a
Q-Logic ISP10160A SCSI channel processor and an Intel i960RM as the RAID
controller.
Attempting to boot any kernel with iop configured (e.g. GENERIC, INSTALL)
yields:
iop0 at pci0 dev 15 function 0: I2O adapteriop0: reset rejected, status 0x0
iop0: not responding (reset)
and no ld disks are found. The result is identical whether the adapter's
Class Emulation setting is set to I2O or Mass Storage. I've also tried
turning the Fast Initialization on an off, with no effect.
The device's own BIOS is able to successfully probe disks, initialize RAID
arrays, etc. This is both with the card's original BIOS, and the latest
version from the lsilogic.com web site (AMI sold this division to LSI.)
Tested in two different machines with significantly different internals.
>How-To-Repeat:
Install a MegaRAID 3 adapter in a machine. Try to install
NetBSD on the resulting ld. Fail miserably.
>Fix:
Unknown at this time.
