Libsndfile is installed (libraries are present in /usr/pkg/lib), pkg-info reports it also as  installed:

# pkg_info  | grep libsndfile
libsndfile-1.0.1    library for reading and writing audio files

This problem wasn't present in NetBSD-1.6 formal release pkgsrc; packages faad2 and libsndfile were not required for the build of mplayer and were not part of the package collection.
