Sorry, my english is a little poor ... I mean to say I had hear that there 
are somes discution in Gentoo to replace GNU tar by star. I'm not sure, but 
I think that star should be a good candidate for the standard tar in netbsd, 
since it support gnu tar, ansi tar, POSIX.1-2001 PAX and Sun's Solaris tar. 
I think that star is simply superior to all others tar implementation (but 
this is my own opinion ...)
