I'd hoped it had something in the loop...
However the above is fairly typical of the trace output I got
trying to fix other bugs :-(

For starters I'd compile with:
#define ckmalloc(s) _ckmalloc((s), __FILE__, __LINE__)
#define ckrealloc(s) _ckrealloc((s), __FILE__, __LINE__)
and report file, line (and size) when the request fails....
