	gtar has a "--exclude" option that permits you to exclude
certain files, subdirs, etc. from being tared up. this is used by a
number of backup scripts and programs.
	pax-as-tar only supports "--exclude-file" which is not the
same thing at all.

	discover your backups are now five times larger because you're
backing up things like /usr when you didn't want to. Get angry.
