>Release: pkgsrc under SunOS 5.9
>Organization:
>Environment:
SunOS kempfj2 5.9 Generic_112233-03 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-60
>Description:
For some ungodly reason, pkgsrc under SunOS 5.9 incessantly tries to use pax instead of tar, whilst sending pax the flags that tar understands. Pax doesn't seem to undertsand pax -xf foo.tar. When it sees it, it barfs. This results in my inability to even begin doing unsuccessful builds of the ports tree on Solaris 9.
>How-To-Repeat:
Have the misfortune of using pax instead of tar.
>Fix:
Blow the bootstrap-pkgsrc included tar and pax. Grab the latest version of gnutar, build and install it, and make symlinks in /usr/pkg/bin for tar, gtar, and pax that all point to the newly installed tar.
