Booting an i386 with a non-US keyboard layout gives you the wrong keyboard
mapping at the "boot" prompt. This differs for example from UltraSPARCs, where
you have the proper keyboard layout at the firmware level already.

The difference is obvious, and it's comparing apples and oranges, sure.

Nevertheless I think it's a good idea to give the user the "right" layout
for his keyboard as early as possible.
