System: NetBSD night-porter.duskware.de 1.6R NetBSD 1.6R (PORTER) #3: Sat Apr 12 20:26:22 CEST 2003 martin@insomnia.duskware.de:/mnt/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/PORTER i386
Architecture: i386
Machine: i386
>Description:
Even though we do not offer the installation binaries in very much languages,
we should make it easy for the user to use the keyboard while in the (english)
sysinst menus and edit fields.
So he should be able to load the proper keyboard layout early in the
installation process. Sysinst should also write the appropriate entries
to /etc on the new installed system, if installing from scratch.
>How-To-Repeat:
Use a non-US layout keyboard and run sysinst. Notice things like "/" are not
on their right place on your keyboard.
>Fix:
Like the term type selection, offer to select a different keyboard layout
early. (But please don't make the user type the cryptical name there, he might
not know the NetBSD conventions yet and typing ASCII strings might be hard,
due to mismapped keys.)
