>Description:
I recently found myself (due to unfortunate circumstance out of my controll
and not topic here) in possesion of a file called whatever.rar.
I guessed (correctly) our friendly pkg people would have dealed with that for
me and did "cd /usr/pkgsrc/archivers/unrar && make".
It told me:
===> unrar-3.2.1nb1 has an unacceptable license: unrar-license.
===> To build this package, add this line to your /etc/mk.conf:
===> ACCEPTABLE_LICENSES+=unrar-license
Fine. Now I do care about licenses, maybe in a pretty old-fashioned way from
several points of view: I have machines I avoid "contaminating" with certain
types of licenses, and I use NetBSD packages for real work, so the blanko
statement "this is private use only, no license will realy care about it"
is not always true.
Ok, so I tried to figure out what this "unrar-license" is about and read
the DESCR file. It told me the license would be in the LICENSE.TXT file.
Easy, I did "make fetch" - but that just repeated the above license warning.
Duh.
Now I bet there is some way to check what this license is about, and probably
it is even documented somewhere - but please let "make" tell me about it.
(I.e. reference the documentation, wherever it may be, or tell me how to
"make fetch DO_WHAT_I_MEAN_AND_IGNORE_THE_STUPID_LICENSE_DOOD=1")
