>Description:
The tarball at http://www.elfin.net/netbsd/libtool.tar.gz upgrades pkgsrc/devel/libtool*/ to release version 1.5.
* Most of the pkgsrc patches have been incorporated into this release.
* This new release includes a major bump of the ltdl shared library. From
looking at other packages, this will require a nb bump on all packages
that require libtool.
* LIBTOOL_REQD will need to be updated in pkgsrc/mk/bsd.pkg.mk.
* libtool now warns about instances where '--mode' is not explicitly set
via the command line.
I've been running libtool-1.5 on a -current i386 box now for about 2 months
now. Things just work. I have not tested this update on any other OS.
From the NEWS file for major changes:
New in 1.5: 2002-04-14; CVS version 1.4e, Libtool team:
* First stable release of multi-language architecture.
* libtool and libltdl support for Mac OS/X.
* libltdl will now use cygwins dlopen API instead of always forcing
LoadLibrary.
* Support auto-import patch to binutils on cygwin for much improved dll
support.
* Bug fixes.
