The drives are:
QUANTUM FIREBALLct08 08, 8063MB -- it's old, at least 3 years, if not 4 
or more.
Maxtor 6Y080P0, 78167 MB -- this one's new, <1 year old.

If the information above does not suffice, then I'll pull my case apart 
later and get more specific.


And the card, just in case, is a Maxtor UltraATA/100 PCI Adapter Card. 
The model number from a sticker on the box is K01PCAT100
