>Environment:
SunOS unknown 5.9 Generic_112233-08 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-5_10
>Description:
When one tries to build bash2 in Solaris 9 it fails unless ar is in the path even if in mk.conf one sets AR=/usr/ccs/bin/ar
This happens in the Makefiles for /lib/glob,lib/readline,/lib/sh and /lib/malloc. It also happens in the main Makefile.
Being able to set at from mk.conf I think is very important.
It also doesn't repects size or strip.
>How-To-Repeat:
Try to build bash-2.05b with ar not in your path
>Fix:
One can put ar in their path or set the path in each makefile. I have not made a patch.
