NetBSD Skul_3c 1.6.2 NetBSD 1.6.2 (SKUL) #1: Sun Apr 25 09:59:26 GMT 2004 root@Skul_3c:/fserv/NetBSD/1.6.2/src/usr/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/SKUL i386
>Description:
/usr/pkg/bin/wdm does not put itself in backgound like xdm, so that
/etc/rc.d/wdm blocks /etc/rc.
Display-Manager.daemonModem : true
in wdm-config does not change that behavior, and there is no "-daemon"
option to /usr/pkg/bin/wdm binary
Since wdm is quite at the end of /etc/rc.d, the only scripts waiting
to get started are wdogctl, wscons, xfs, ypbind, yppasswdd & ypserv
>How-To-Repeat:
1) install wdm-1.25.tgz
2) Correct the problem report port-i386/25336 as suggested in its
"Fix to the problem" section
3) reboot the system
4) On the first virtual console (Ctrl-Alt-F1), do Ctrl-C
to unblock the init and get the login prompt.
>Fix:
A silly workaround: put a "&" ini the /etc/rc.d/wdm script.
But I don't think it is a good solution...
