The manpage of popen(3) does not mention POSIX. POSIX defines
popen, so I guess it should be mentioned.

Describe POSIX conformance under (currently non-existant) STANDARDS
section. It seems it's non-POSIX compatible in that it accepts "rw"
as the `mode' (last) argument.
