>Description:
I installed NetBSD with a custom partitioning scheme. I created a swap partition (wd0b) on the outermost zone of the disk, then the root partition (wd0a), and then the rest (wd0e, ...). NetBSD installed just fine, but it wouldn't boot. I retried it several times, but it only worked correctly when wd0a was the outermost partition.
>How-To-Repeat:
Install NetBSD with a partitioning scheme where wd0a is not the first partition (phyisically) on the disk.
>Fix:
It will only boot when wd0a is the outermost partition. -- If this problem can't be fixed, it should at least be documented (that is, the documentation, or even the installer, should tell you about this).
