 ok, spoke too soon.
 
 it actually hangs on all of netbsd-2-0, netbsd-2, netbsd-3 and -current
 if i leave it suspended for a longer time (e.g., 1 minute).
 
 i tried INSTALL_LAPTOP kernels from netbsd-2 (may 11th snapshot),
 netbsd-2-0 (2.0.2 release), netbsd-3 (may 6th) and various -current
 sources (may 12th, jan 25th, jan 1st - both INSTALL_LAPTOP and my custom
 configs).
