When I plug or unplug the AC adapter on my notebook (a Compaq Presario R3000), the system hangs and halts, printing the following lines, in green:

fatal page fault in supervisor mode
trap type 6 code 10 rip 801004a5 cs 8 rflags 10246 cr2 801004a5 cpl 0 rsp ffffffff80976df8
syncing disks... done
The operating system has halted
