the first part of what you say is true, i am emailing
from a host on a local network behind NAT stuff.

but i am not sending out email with an invalid return
address. if i was, how would i be getting this email?

all my local DNS works fine, and if it received a query
for local machines behind the NAT server, it would
respond correctly, but ISP's don't pass those queries
down to their static IP customers typically.
