I'll close the PR.
As for 5, CMI9880 doesn't have any hardware playback volume. So
it is normal that you have only *.mute.
As for 3 and 4, I'm not sure they were caused by CMI9880 support
probelm, azalia problem, MI audio problem, or mplayer's problem.
Please open another PR.
