Lockups occur with my hardware and MPBIOS.  The random lockups go away with MPACPI and MPBIOS commented out.  I found this out via trial-and-error.

I use an Aopen motherboard.  I'm not sure what model.

Just use NetBSD doing console or X stuff, and suddenly it locks up.  If you enable MPDEBUG and DEBUG it doesn't do any good.  It doesn't respond to ctrl-alt-escape to enter the kernel debugger with MPBIOS.
>Fix:
Use MPACPI instead of MPBIOS.
