Do you confirm your machine actually has flash ROM for openfirmware?
Did you tried the recovery method mentioned in the FAQ:
http://www.netbsd.org/Ports/macppc/faq.html#ofw-clear  ?
Wrong real-base setting could make machines stick even if you didn't load
ofwboot, but clearing NV-RAM should fix it. (at least it did on my Apus)
