Subject: Re: kern/34711: ehci(4) won't talk to iPod Nano
Date: Wed, 24 Jan 2007 17:49:11 +0200
I just tried plugging my iPod Nano into an ehci port again, now using
a kernel built from sources updated a few minutes ago, and I'm still
getting the same error message:
uhub8: device problem, disabling port 6
Since the original bug report, I have installed a second EHCI card,
this one based on a VIA chip, in the hope that it would work better
than the Acer one. Alas, it also fails, but with a different error
message:
umass0 at uhub4 port 3 configuration 1 interface 0
umass0: Apple iPod, rev 2.00/0.01, addr 2
umass0: using SCSI over Bulk-Only
scsibus1 at umass0: 2 targets, 1 lun per target

SENSE KEY: Not Ready
ASC/ASCQ: Logical Unit Is in Process Of Becoming Ready
sd0: drive offline
Here is the full boot-time dmesg output from the current kernel, with
both EHCI cards installed:
