Hello!

Referring to PR/38548, this issue had been fixed and i started to use 4.99.72 
without problem.

I have just downloaded NetBSD 5 RC1 and installed it onto another partition and 
i "occasionally" encounter with same problem ie; 3 succusfull boot and 1 
failure.

Referring to CVS log for src/sys/dev/ic/ahcisata_core.c

Source from 20080925 which means rev 1.17 works perfectly while rev 1.18 not.
