I tried to build kernel without acpi as acpi does not work for me.
The next thing to try was pnpbios but configuring fdc at pnpbios causes kernel
uvm fault.
disabling the fdc or pnpbios allows booting the kernel
other pnpbios devices (npx, com, lpt, pckbc) work
