I'm using a Logitech wireless usb keyboard. I first noticed the problem on 
NetBSD 4.0 a few months ago, but did not report. The keyboard works flawlessly 
on install, but upon first boot, no longer worked. On a different machine, I 
noticed it again. I tested by plugging in a different wired usb keyboard, which 
I noticed then allowed my original keyboard to work.

My solution has been to keep both plugged in when booting, then unplug and 
replug the 'extra' keyboard, which then allows my 'good' keyboard to work.

May only occur with certain keyboards, but for my Logitech Y-RCP140 it is 
reproducible every time.
