Hello!
Please notice following FTP directories and/or files are either useless or
confuse visitors:
- ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/arch
It confuses because people think this is the directory where you can browse
versions by arch but not! It is full of very old content. I suggest removal or
rename.
- ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/pkgsrc/packages/NetBSD-5.0
This directory is empty. (Should it be empty?)
- There are many symlinks/hardlinks and they confuse visitors and hard to
understand which one is correct -- although they generally point same content.
I suggest a README note instead of symlinks.
For example:
Which one is the directory for compiled packages? If you use Firefox, you can
not see symlinks and think about twice which one is correct one:
ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/packages > actually points to
current-packages in same directory
ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/pkgsrc/packages > /{arch} points to ../NetBSD/{arch}
ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/pkgsrc/packages/NetBSD > actually target of above
and {arch}/version points to ie; version_2009Q1
Which one is directory of latest pkgsrc.tar.gz?
ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/packages/current-src
ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/pkgsrc/current
Well, i suggest unique content and readme files or little notes instead of
symlinks/hardlinks.
Regards,
